Embrace" is an iOS mobile application crafted to support individuals grappling with common mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression. Rather than replicating the experience of professional therapy, Embrace creates a nurturing space where like-minded souls converge. Here, members flourish through shared stories, empathetic listening, and mutual care, fostering a community of healing and growth

RESEARCH

Depression - A mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. Like Anxiety, it is usually results from a combination of recent events and other longer-term or personal factors. Research suggests that continuing difficulties – long-term unemployment, living in an abusive or uncaring relationship, long-term isolation or loneliness, prolonged work stress – are more likely to cause depression than recent life stresses.

Anxiety - It’s a common mental disorder that can occur in a variety of ways into ones life. The difference between anxious and anxiety is it will keep an ongoing feeling of anxious without any particular reason or cause. It’s a serious condition that makes it hard to cope with daily life. According to research, the condition isn’t developed or caused by a single factor but a combination of things. A number of other factors play a role, including per- sonality factors, difficult life experiences and physical health.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) affects 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older, or 18.1% of the population every year. According to World Health Organization(WHO) 350 million people worldwide suffer from depression. In 2015, around 16.1 million adults aged 18 years or older in the U.S. had experienced at least one major depressive episode in the last year, which represent- ed 6.7 percent of all American adults. Depression is the leading cause of disability in the United States among people ages 15-44.

Each brushstroke captures her emotions, from deep blues of sorrow to bright yellows of fleeting joy. While words elude her, her art speaks, making every canvas a reflection of her heart's struggles and hopes. Through painting, Venla finds solace and connection.
